Amanda Rivera, MSW, LCSW

Amanda Rivera, MSW, LCSW, is a Licensed Social Worker providing clinical services to children and adolescents at Children’s Advocacy Services. Ms. Schmitt received her Master’s degree in Social Work from the George Warren Brown School of Social Work at Washington University in St. Louis. In her position at CASGSL, Ms. Schmitt sees individual clients who have been exposed to various types of trauma, including sexual abuse, physical abuse, domestic violence, and traumatic loss. She conducts group therapy for preschool and school age children with sexual behavior problems and coordinates the group programs at CASGSL. Ms. Schmitt has received specialized training in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy, an empirically supported intervention for children with severe behavior disorders and provides PCIT to children and families at CASGSL. Ms. Schmitt’s clinical interests include assessment and treatment of traumatized children, children with sexual behavior problems, and traumatized children with disruptive behavior problems.
